  Mike Badger and The Shady Trio formed in summer and have released two studio albums and two singles. In Badger's autobiography The Rhythm & The Tide (Liverpool, The La's And Ever After) was released; it was co written with music journalist Tim Peacock and published by Liverpool University Press.

  The mythology that has grown around The La’s has made them one of the most enigmatic bands of the last few decades. The story began in a bleak mid’s Liverpool, with a chance meeting between two unemployed musicians, Lee Mavers and Mike Badger. Over the next two years they co-wrote material which appears here on ‘Breakloose’.
